A private purchase water bottle as sold to officers. This has a plated metal body covered in a green barathea cloth with a leather strap and two spring clips to secure it to a sam browne belt. This particular example was made by a Newcastle firm. The cover has some scattered moth holes mainly to the reverse and the cap is slightly depressed into the body. The cap has a bayonet closure which works well.
