A well used but scarce early model of the 1902 SD Jacket. This example has a mix of early glazed cotton patches and field dressing pocket and cotton drill pocket liners. Unlike the later models the pocket reinforcements are separate pieces of material. It is named to Driver H Jarman. Despite extensive searches I have not been able to find any records pertaining to this soldier. It is entirely possible that he never served overseas and his records were lost during the WW2 Blitz which destroyed a significant amount of WW1 service records. This exact jacket is photographed on pages 20 and 21 of Campaign 1914 written by the acclaimed Great War collector Chris Pollendine. There is some damage and holes in the jacket I have photographed these as best I can.
