1918 Dated Soft Cap 78th Battalion CEF The Winnipeg Grenadiers

A wool version of the soft cap introduced in 1916 as part of th service dress family of caps. This example is in very good to excellent condition with a superbly clear 1918 date and WD mark indicating issue from the Pimlico Clothing Factory. The 78th Battalion cap badge has always been on this cap as the ghosting behind it indicates.
78th Battalion CEF fought in France and Belgium in 12th Brigade 4th Canadian Division. Battle honours include Arras 1917, Vimy (Ridge) 3rd Ypres, Amiens 1918 to name but a few of many.
